We Take Care
To provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment that is thought provoking and interactive.
To promote an atmosphere of equal opportunities whatever the cultural background, ability or gender.
To consider each child as unique with very individual feelings and needs.
To encourage appropriate manners and behaviour that both respect and consider other children and adults.
To build self-esteem by providing positive learning experiences relevant to each child’s individual development.
To fully enable every child to gather an interest in the world around them and beyond.
To structure each day to combine fun and learning that encourages a child’s natural curiosity.
To support children, in a developmentally appropriate way, towards the aims identified by the government’s ‘Early Learning Goals’.
To reassess and evaluate our working beliefs and values, on a regular basis, to exceed our expectations in a changing world.
To build partnerships that add balance and judgment to our values.

“Even with all these aims and objectives, any child who simply wants a cuddle will not be disappointed”.

We know that children develop in different ways at different paces. The experiences of each child will develop individual needs to realize their own potential whilst feeling happy and secure. Weekly activity sheets will be displayed on the parent’s notice board. You are encouraged to take an interest in the variety of subjects and perhaps continue some elements of the programme in the home environment.

Our Nursery includes activities and experiences that will influence attitudes to learning for years ahead. Indeed, a child that has experienced a good pre-school is much more likely to find the transition to school and the National Curriculum Key Stage One learning programme much less traumatic.

The `Early Years Foundation Stage’ is a statutory Government framework that supports the best possible start in life. Nursery staff use the EYFS to help plan for the learning and healthy development of the children in our care. These are set out as:

Prime Areas

Personal, Social and Emotional Development
 Communication & Language
 Physical Development

Specific Areas

♥ Literacy
 Understanding The World
 Expressive arts & Design

Our framework needs to be carefully structured and requires quality time with each child. Within the structure we have three strands:-

Provision for different starting points from which children develop their learning; building on what they can already achieve.
Relevant and appropriate content which matches the different levels of young children’s needs.
Planned and purposeful activity which provides opportunities for teaching and learning both indoors and outdoors. Our curriculum is structured but flexible to individual children’s needs and circumstances. It is the base on which we build and permits everyone to achieve a measured progress to a self- motivated programme of self-improvement.
